Visit the Heddon Museum
Looking to find out more about Heddon? If so, then maybe a trip to Dowagiac is in order.
There is a Heddon Museum located in the former Heddon factory at 414 West St in Dowagiac, MI which displays over 1200 vintage Heddon lures, 140 reels, and 150 Heddon rods. The prize piece of the collection being an original James Heddon frog, one of the most sought after of all vintage fishing lures.
The museum was started in 1995, and has 3,000 feet of space devoted to Heddon. The museum founders started the museum as a way to preserve the history of Dowagiac which all vintage fishing lure collectors can be proud of.
The stated goal of the Heddon Museum is to preserve the history of the Heddon family’s contributions to the fishing tackle industry as well as the city of Dowagiac. In addition to the contributions to the fishing tackle industry, several other activities are chronicled including other products that were manufactured by Heddon as well as information on The Heddon Aviation Company with models of the company’s flying fish airplanes on display.

Museum hours – every Tuesday evening 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM . Also, the last Sunday afternoon of every month 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM. And the great part = Free admission! .
